HISTORICAL OVERVIEW

The Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP) was officially founded as a private autonomous university and was recognized by the Government of Peru in 1917. On the 25th anniversary of the PUCP the Holy See granted it the honorary title of Pontifical University.  Since its inception the PUCP took up the challenge of becoming the leading university in Peru and by 2007 when it celebrated its 90th anniversary it had already been locally and internationally recognized as a prime promoter of development. SPORTS COLISEUM

As part of its expansion plan, a few years ago the PUCP constructed a sports coliseum.  This coliseum has been designed to practice a variety of sports and its 2,700 seat capacity has hosted a number of meetings. It is fully equipped with state-of-the-art audio-visual equipment and has additional installations required to accommodate even the most demanding events.
