Rules for the submittal of abstracts:

  • All papers must be submitted in the form of Extended Abstracts, consisting of six A4 pages (21 x 29.7 cm) containing the complete information (text, diagrams, references, tables, photos etc.)
  • The text must be submitted in Word format, and may contain insertions of tables in Excel, graphs and photos in JPG, TIFF, WMF and/or BMP format.
  • Language:  English or Spanish
  • Margins: Upper margin: 3 cm, lower margin: 2 cm, left margin: 3 cm, right margin: 2 cm.
  • Font: 11-point, Times New Roman, single-spaced.
  • Format for the heading: upper-case, bold, centered, Times New Roman 12. Leave two blank lines. Insert the name of the authors in title-case, centered, Times New Roman 11. Leave one blank line. Include the author(s) address(es), centered, Times New Roman 9.
  • Format for main sub-headings: upper-case, bold, text-align: left,  Times New Roman 11.
  • Format for secondary sub-headings: upper-case, text-align: left,  Times New Roman 11.
  • Format for figures legends: Upper and lower-case, justified, Times New Roman 11. Obs: the figures should have numbers in a sequencial order and should also be mentioned in the text.
  • Format for References: Times New Roman 10.

    Format: Family name, initials, year of publication. Title of the article or paper. Name of the periodic or publication, volume, number of the beginning page, number of end page.

  • Some examples:

    Torres, A.J. 2002. The world in the last century. Nature, vol. 3, n° 2, p. 123-129. 

    In the case of papers written by more than one author, it is necessary to refer all the names, as in following example: 

    Torres, A.J., Rick, T.B., Yuri, R.W. & Wehr, R.R. 2005. The world in the present century. Nature, vol. 3, n° 2, p. 129-139.

    References that are related to chapters or parts of books and others publications should contain the reference of the main publication, mentioning the editors’ names, following the format bellow: 

    Torres, A.J., Rick, T.B., Yuri, R.W. & Wehr, R.R. 2005. The world in the present century. In Prenz, R. & Wehr, R.R. (eds), The World of Nature, 320p.

  • All papers must be submitted by e-mail to the Scientific Activities and Publications Committee (congreso@sgp.org.pe).

The Technical Program Committee shall be responsible for assessing the papers, with the assistance of consulting experts. Once the papers have been carefully revised, the Committee shall select those it considers to be the most outstanding and shall notify the author(s) of such decision. Such selected author(s) may possibly receive a list of suggestions so that he/she may correct or amend such paper before it passes on to the final stage of approval. The selected author(s) must resubmit the corrected paper to the Committee within a maximum term of one week, on diskette, CD or by e-mail.  
 
The Technical Program Committee shall select those papers it considers should be presented either in the oral sessions or in poster form, and selected authors will be notified with sufficient advance notice.  The Committee however, will remain open to suggestions from the authors as to their  preferred form of presentation.

NEW Deadline for the submittal of extended abstracts: April 30, 2008

Note: At least one of the authors of any selected paper must be registered as a Congress participant for it to be published.
